I’m really going to try to join this more often, I’m so bad at making excuses not to write. A challenge site is the perfect motivation. In order to force myself to participate, I’m doing this profile thing. If I’ve got a profile, I’ve got to join in. Otherwise people will be thinking Who is this? I’ve never seen any stories from her.
What is your name (real or otherwise)? On here: Kayennepeppa you can call me Kay.
Describe your writing style in three words. Funny. Automatic. Broken.
How long have you been writing online? um. I used to post stories and poems on allpoetry.com ages ago. I had a livejournal once upon a time that I rambled in. After about a three year Net Hiatus, I’ve been writing maybe a week?
Which, if any, other writing challenges do you participate in? Back in my livejournal days I was in a prompt type group for writing and drawing. I did a couple contests on allpoetry. Nothing noteworthy.
Describe one way in which you could improve your writing. Stop being so self critical and just do it. Some of the crap I come up with in my automatic writing notebooks is insane. I need to hold on to that thought process.
What is the best writing advice you’ve ever been given? Stick to one tense. When I was a kid, I wrote lots of stories, but I was horrible at bouncing around my tenses, mostly passive. ugh. Also, don’t try to edit while writing. It just puts the brakes on whatever you’re trying to accomplish.
Who is your favorite author? I have sort of a love/hate thing going on with Steven King. He’s my idol, but I constantly mock the guy.
How do you make time to write? I don’t…
Give us one word we should consider using as a prompt. Remember–it must have a third definition. furrow. it just popped into my head just now. it’s a funny word.
Direct us to one blog post of yours that we shouldn’t miss reading. I dunno. All of them? Just kidding. I can’t pick. You pick.
